James Oliver Cury has covered pop culture in its many manifestations for dozens of magazines and websites. From 2012 to 2015, he was the digital director at Details.com, a Condé Nast site, where he oversaw all web, mobile, and social-media strategy, as well as video. Previously, he has been a digital director at Maxim.com and Hearst Digital, executive editor at Epicurious.com, food/restaurant editor at Time Out New York (print), and senior editor/lifestyle editor at Playboy.com. Cury has written for Esquire, Men's Journal, SPIN, Entertainment Weekly, Wired News, and The New York Times. He is also the author of "The Playboy Guide to Bachelor Parties" (Simon & Schuster).
Cury has judged competitions at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), the Jack Daniel's World Barbecue Championship, and Food Network's "Iron Chef" show. And he continues to judge for the James Beard Chef & Restaurant Awards.
